Sara Marantz Biography Download Bio Click Here Sara Marantz Sara Marantz received a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA.Sara is on the adjunct music faculty at Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, TX, where she teaches accompanying. During the twenty years that she has been associated with DBU, she has served as accompanist for the vocal department, Coordinator of Accompanist Activities, and accompanist for both the Chamber Singers and the University Chorale, a touring group that has performed at many prestigious venues in both the United States and Europe. In those capacities she has enjoyed an active career as a collaborative pianist, in recital with students, faculty, and guest performers, and has served as rehearsal and performance accompanist for many of the opera and musical performances put on by the DBU College of Fine Arts. Sara currently serves as pianist for Park Cities Baptist Church, in Dallas, TX. She began her duties there in August 2012, and is under the direction of Stephen Carrell, Minister of Music and Worship. The PCBC Sanctuary Choir will be the featured choir for Baylor University's Alleluia 2015, and has also been invited to sing at The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., as part of the 2015 Labor Day at the Cathedral event. Sara served as a pianist from 2003-13 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, TX, where, in addition to her accompanist duties, she directed both handbell and vocal ensembles. Prior to this, she was the pianist for Duncanville's First Baptist Church for seventeen years, where she also served as coordinator of the children's choir program. Sara is a member of Texas Music Teachers Association, and is an active participant in her local association, Dallas Southwest MTA, where she is currently serving on the board as Immediate Past President. She has maintained a private piano studio in the Dallas area since 1985, and currently has a studio in her home in Cedar Hill, Texas. Sara is also in demand as a solo pianist, performing regularly in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. In addition to the collaborative work she is involved with at DBU, she also is called upon as an accompanist throughout the DFW area, working with visiting artists, students, schools, churches, and various musical organizations. She has recently served as pianist and musical associate for several musicals produced by area community organizations, such as First Baptist Church of Dallas, and the city of Grand Prairie, performing "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Little Women - The Musical". |
