"Nice Work If You Can Get It"
Words and Music By: George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin
Arranged By: Dave Wolpe
Instrumentation: Big Band with Vocal Soloist / * Comes with CD of arrangement played by professionals
Publisher: Warner Brothers Publications
Grade 4 Swing Tempo = 152 $55.00

“Warner Brothers Publications” and Dave Wolpe give us an arrangement of the classic “Nice Work If You Can Get It” for vocalist and big band. This new series from “Warner Brothers Publications” includes a CD of the arrangement for the students and their directors to hear before they attempt to play it. This gives a wonderful starting point for those younger players new to the big band format.

There is careful thought given to the production of this chart as it has been written in two different keys for flexibility. This gives the director a chance to allow a female or male vocal soloist the chance to perform this excellent arrangement.

Along with easy adjustments for most any singer, the ranges are written for almost anyone who wants to sing this great tune. There is a break for the vocal soloist during the performance with a solo for tenor sax. This instrumental solo also has backgrounds written for enhancement and color. The chart comes with a transposed score for both female and male so the director is always on the same page. This is a swinging arrangement and will be just the right touch for your next jazz concert featuring the vocalist who has been waiting to sing with the big band all year.
Female vocal written in C
Male Vocal written in F
