"Cute"
Composed By: Neal Hefti
Arranged By: Mike Story
Instrumentation: Big Band /* Comes with CD of arrangement played by professionals
Publisher: Warner Brothers Publications
Grade 3 Swing Tempo - Medium / no tempo stated $35.00

Neil Hefti’s classic drum feature “Cute” returns to jazz education in a very strong arrangement for the beginning jazz ensemble. This excellent piece could be quite difficult for any band, especially the young jazz ensemble. It’s only because of Mike Story’s ability that “Cute” for the young jazz ensemble can be played to a very high level of excellence even by very inexperienced jazz musicians.

Mike has designed this chart so that all the parts are accessible to the less experienced musician. Even the brass parts are written with range and difficulty in mind.

The drum solo is clearly written and gives your percussionist a chance to shine with the big band. Flexible instrumentation with optional parts written to cover odd instrumentation can help make this arrangement become the highlight of your next jazz concert.

As with most of the new charts from Warner Brothers this series includes a CD of the arrangement for the students to hear before they attempt to play it. At this beginning level it’s really essential and will prove to be a very big help in the success of the performance and learning curve on this chart.
